Who we are

Amor Movement serves young Latinas in high school, supporting them during a pivotal stage of personal, academic, and leadership development. We support students navigating identity, opportunity gaps, and future planning—walking alongside them as they build confidence, develop skills, and cultivate a strong sense of community.

Why we exist

We exist to break generational barriers and close opportunity gaps by ensuring young Latinas have access to the tools, mentorship, and support they deserve. Amor Movement was created to provide no-cost, empowering programming that helps participants recognize their worth and pursue their goals with confidence.

What we do

Our approach is culturally relevant, relationship-centered, and grassroots-driven. We center Latina voices and lived experiences, leading with both love and accountability. Through an integrated focus on life skills, professional development, mentorship, and civic engagement, we offer a holistic journey of growth. By fostering strong relationships and community, Amor Movement creates a space where young women feel seen, supported, and empowered to lead meaningful change.

We support
through 3 core programs

Latina youth

Each pillar equips young Latinas with the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to lead with purpose and make an impact in their communities.

Charlas de amor

Our comprehensive life-skills pillar equips young Latinas with essential tools for daily life—from building healthy relationships and setting boundaries to strengthening mental well-being through ongoing sessions that culminate in a restorative mental health retreat, and developing financial literacy.

Poderosas on
the Rise

This professional development program prepares participants for the world of work and leadership, including networking prep, resume writing, interview skills, career guidance, salary negotiation, and meaningful dialogues with Latina trailblazers to inspire and empower future leaders.

Spreading the Love

Our civic engagement pillar empowers cohorts to create positive change by developing community projects that foster social responsibility and strengthen connections within their communities.

Hear it from our

 poderosas

Being part of Amor Movement has allowed me to feel more confident about entering the real world as a young Latina. The professional development workshops have allowed me to further develop my networking, interviewing, and negotiating skills. Giving us the opportunity to first-hand experience a mock interview and negotiation, made me feel better prepared in terms of knowing what to do, say, or expect, helping me feel more prepared for real-life scenarios.

Through our trailblazers, I was able to hear several powerful Latinas share their career/life journeys and connecting with them beyond Amor Movement. Additionally, I gained valuable insights by job shadowing and experiencing firsthand what it’s like to work in and run a nonprofit organization. Thanks to Amor Movement, I’ve built mentorship relationships that have opened up numerous opportunities for my future.
